I went in this morning for my OAR testing, and they wanted to do an ultrasound to check my ovaries and uterine lining. Today is day 4 of my period; the OAR testing is done between days 2 and 5.
Got my blood drawn; the OAR test results will be back in about a week.
The ultrasound was very promising. I had 4 follicles on the left and 3 follicles on the right. Most people (without stimulating the ovaries with medicine) only get 1 follicle per cycle. This gives me hope that when we harvest, I will stimulated well, and we will get lots of healthy embryos.
The OAR testing really just tells the RE what dosage to start with the sim medication.

Starting Over
Apparently, for some unknown reason, Blogger/Google/Who the f ever, decided to delete my other blog. Very annoying. So we are starting over with this new blog. Hopefully people who read the previous blog, remember a little bit of what went on. We did a harvest cycle and got 8 embryos. We transferred 4 times, 3 of which we got pregnant and miscarried before 12 weeks. The last transfer didn't stick. We did a second harvest cycle in Oct 2014, which resulted in the zombie embryo that was so complex abnormal it had to be destroyed chemically because it continued to grow and replicate normally......out of the incubator. The two make fetus' were genetically normal. They don't know why I miscarried.
Jump ahead to 2015. We consulted with Schoolcraft in Colorado. He is supposedly the foremost fertility guy in the country. He said he thinks the cancer medicine compromised the blood flow to my uterus and we should skip putting embryos in me, and go right to a gestational carrier. However, we have to get healthy embryos first.
That brings us to present day. I go for my OAR testing this week, during my period. Ovarian Assessment Report. This basically tells us how good my eggs are and how many we "should" be able harvest. We will decide where to go from there once the report is back. The plan at this point is to over stimulate, get as many embryos as we can, send them for genetic testing (to make sure they are healthy), and then freeze them (for later transfer - whether into my uterus or a carrier's).
That is where things stand as of tonight.
