I started the 10 units daily sub-q Lupron yesterday. It was kind of an interesting day.
As most of you know, our Bengal Malcolm adopted the feral kittens from next door. There is now only 1 left out of the litter. She is a Maine Coon looking long haired kitten. We got her spayed, and then she broke her pelvis getting away from a large bird (the talon scars are on her back). Needless to say, she is super untrusting of people now...from the 2 vet visits. She comes in the house when it's raining and at night. Well, yesterday morning (0520) as I was giving my shot, I heard both cats get up (they're bells are slightly different in sound). I felt a cat rub up against my leg. I thought nothing of it as Malcolm does this all the time. I finish giving my shot and look down. Kaylee is the one who is there and Malcolm is across the kitchen. Kaylee realizes I am looking at her and she's like "oh shite" and runs out the dog door like her butt was on fire. The later in the afternoon she is in the house when I get home (1515 or so). I'm having chocolate pie and Malcolm comes to have some with me. She is right there....eating chocolate pie off my finger. Not sure what is going on..... Progress??
Any who, that's the funny story from yesterday's shot. Today was uneventful. LOL
My first ultrasound and blood work is April 8th.

Medications
Holy Shite. The cost of Follastim went waaaaayyy up since our last cycle in Oct 14. Our medications went from $3800 to $6500. Yeah. Wasn't expecting that....
The clinic now uses Acaria Pharmacy, which is much higher than Walgreen's Specialty. I asked if we could use Walgreen's specialty instead, as they have a Fertility Insurance type program. You pay $25 to join, then they take $100 off every $1000 you spend. That right there saves us ~ $600.
It was def a shocker to get that number for sure. Medications will arrive tomorrow and I start the shots on Sunday. I have a new calendar.

Baseline US and Blood Work
We paid for our cycle last week. $14,500. We got a banking cycle with 2 FET attempts. Shared risk again. If we get preggo with the first FET (June 22) then we are done. If we don't get preggo, we get a second attempt at a FET on their dime. We only have to pay for the medications (~ $4,000) and the PDG testing (either $1,900 or $2,500 depending on which lab they use). Since we are good friends with the anesthesia provider, he is waving the $500 anesthesia fee for the harvest.
I got my calendar today. The MA has me down as a Ganarelix cycle, but me and the RE discussed a Lupron cycle not Ganarelix. The MA called and is going to verify with the RE. If we do the Lupron, the baseline ultrasound and blood work will be April 8, whereas the Ganarelix baseline ultrasound and blood work will be April 5.
I started the BCP on day 3 of my March cycle...so that was March 17. What an anniversary present, get to start BCP. LOL
I will know tomorrow by 1000 which cycle we are actually doing. Ganarelix or Lupron.
