10 Weeks 5 Days (205 Days To Go)

Went to see my regular OB today.  Got another ultrasound.  Unfortunately the office doesn't do digital pictures, so I won't be posting any more pics.  Too hard to upload from my phone.
Chance is measuring 5 days large.  He is measuring at 11 weeks 3 days.  His heart rate was 176 bpm today.  They did the first trans abdominal ultrasound today; I've been having trans vaginal.
The OB mentioned he wanted me to keep taking the baby aspirin, and  I had to tell him my hemo-oncologist told me not to take any aspirin or NSAIDS.  He said he was going to call the Dr and see what the deal is, as he wants me to take it.  He says it lowers the risk of pre-eclampsia and other placental issues.  He also informed us he has never seen a normal placenta with an IVF patient.  He doesn't know why, but there is something always wrong with an IVF placenta.  Interesting.
He wants me to get the nuchal translucency screening.  Even though this test shows if the fetus has Down Syndrome, it also shows other possible genetic issues that aren't one of the large chromosomal defects like Down.  Heart issues is one example.  This test is done between 11-14 weeks.  There is a small window in which this test has to be done.  With this test, an ultrasound measures the thickness of the skin at the back of the baby's neck, called the nuchal fold.  There is usually a blood test that goes along with the ultrasound.  The blood test looks at the pregnancy associated plasma protein (PAPP-A) and hCG.  They take the results and input them into a mathematical formula for the result of the scan.  This scan is 85% accurate.
I made all my appointments for the rest of the pregnancy.  Every 4 weeks until I am 32 weeks, then it is weekly visits.
My OB told me today he wasn't going to let me go past 38 weeks.  Since I am considered high risk, he doesn't want to increase the chance of still birth, meconium, or pre-eclampsia.  I honestly had no questions for him.  Between my doctor DH and this Pregnancy Day by Day book, it pretty much has answered all the questions I had already.
First day off bed rest = trip to the baby store to check things out.
Next appt is Dec 21......

9 Weeks 5 Days (212 Days To Go)

Today was my last visit with my RE.  It was a bittersweet moment.  She has officially released me to my regular OB.  My appt with him is Monday Nov. 21, 2016; so next week.  My RE wants me to stay on bed rest one more week.  I think she is doing this to cover all her angles.  She said it was up to my OB whether he wants me off bed rest or not.
Well, Mr Chance is doing great.  He is measuring even bigger today at 31.25 mm (this is the size for 10 weeks).  His heart rate is 174 bpm, strong and steady.  He already knows my voice.  During the ultrasound, every time I would speak, he would wiggle.  It was very cute.  We watched him do this for about 10 minutes.  He is starting to look like a baby now.  In these pics you can see his little arms and legs....of course they are just nubbins; you can make out little hands too.
I took advantage of Veteran's Day weekend and picked up a few things for him.  It was 25% off your entire order at Buy Buy Baby.
We have decided on glass bottles (keep in mind I can only formula feed since I have no breasts).  Who knew those things were so expensive??!!  4oz. bottles are $15 and 9 oz. bottles are $18.  Dang.  I went ahead and bought twelve 4 oz. and six 9 oz.  I also got the bottle warmer and sterilizer.  They gave me the discount on the sterilizer and the bath tub even though they were online only, because I was in the store and they had to order them for me.  Bonus.  I sent as many of my friends there this weekend I could think of that were military.
I have officially set up my registries.  There is a lot of crap a baby needs.  We have decided to use cloth diapers and a diaper service, so we don't have to sorry about that; one less thing to buy.
We had decided when we started this process we were going to go with the Orbit Baby infant seat and stroller system.  Unfortunately, Orbit Baby decided to stop making the infant seat this year, and primarily focus on the stroller systems.  Grrrr.  This made me have to chance my whole way of thinking and start researching infant seats, toddler seats, and strollers separately.  Who knew there were so many different kinds of seats and strollers.  Some good, some not so good.  After hours of research, we have decided on the Diono convertible car seat and the Stokke Xplory stroller system.  Yes, I won't be able to leave the baby in the car seat and carry him around, but this seat is the safest and best on the market.  I'll have to take him out of the car seat and put him in the stroller every time we get out of the car.  Many mom friends of mine have poo pooed this.  They said to get an infant seat he can stay in.  Well, I don't want to spend $400 on an infant seat he will only use 3-4 months, then pay another $500 for the convertible toddler seat.  Seems irrational to me.  I'll just transfer him to a sling or the stroller.  It will be great. If we have another one down the road, this stellar system adapts to hold 2 seats.  Perfect.
Our nursery theme is going to be Dr Suess One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.  We both like Dr Suess.  I really wanted ABC, but the DH likes the fish better.  It is pretty cute, and it's blue too.
Well, that's all for now.  Next appt is Monday.

8 Weeks 6 Days (218 Days to Go)

Went for my ultrasound yesterday.  Chance is still measuring big.  His HR was 170.  Length was 21.89 mm.
I still feel really good.  No morning sickness.  Sometimes I wake up really tired.  Still on bed rest.  At least for another week.  My RE said she would release me to by regular OB if he can get me in next week, if not, she wants to see me at least another week.  So I will go back Monday if I haven't heard from my OB.  Hopefully I can stop taking the PIO shots and stop wearing the estrogen patches.  The RE says the medications stay in the body absorbing for another 6 weeks after they are stopped.

My MIL went with me to the appointment.  She got to see her first and only grandson live on the ultrasound machine.  I think she may have cried a little.  I did.  Please don't take my last post about me MIL wrong; I have the most amazing MIL on the planet.  I wish everyone could have a MIL like mine.  Not sure what the DH would say about my mother. LOL  If it weren't for my MIL, we wouldn't be on this journey at all.  She has encouraged me and checked on me everyday since I've been on bed rest.  I can't say enough wonderful things about her.  She is getting new hearing aids, so hopefully that will help her hearing.  Shooting a gun without hearing protection will ruin your hearing.  ALWAYS wear hearing protection (PSA over).  She just had her 82nd birthday on the 3rd of Nov.  Fabulous!
I am anxious to see how she is around Chance.  Raising her son in a different state while her granddaughters were growing up, she has never really been around babies, except her own.  It will be a huge adjustment for all of us when he arrives.  I'm also anxious to see how the animals do when he arrives.
I found an antique crib online last night for $40 (couldn't sleep). I offered her $25 and she accepted. However,  I'm trying to get more information on it.  If it has the right dimensions,  I will bring it home and refurbish it.  If we don't use it, I can always sell it.

8 Weeks 2 Days (222 Days to Go)

It's been a stressful and interesting few days.  Bed rest is no fun.  I'm not 100% complying as I am stuck at home by myself a lot.
This spotting has finally stopped.  It was getting heavier and heavier, worrying me to death, until last night.  After my 2100 trip to the toilet, there was tissue in the toilet.   Needless to say I freaked out.  Yelling for the DH to come upstairs from the family room in the basement.  Screaming from 3 floors away probably wasn't the best thing to do.  DH says the tissue doesn't look like anything, and it can't be Chance as it's not large enough.  I am not bleeding or cramping either.  Not sure what it was, but the minute it passed, all the spotting stopped.  Nothing since.  Make me wonder what it could have been.
Had a little excitement (according to the DH) Wednesday.  The DH was post call, so him and my MIL went to the grocery store.  Now let me set this up for you:  the DH NEVER carries his cell phone, and if he does it's NEVER turned on.  The MIL is so deaf she doesn't hear her cell phone 90% of the time it rings or notifies of a text.  She's so deaf (I left before her Monday to go to my appt, and I set the alarm thinking she had left, as she told me her thing was at 0930) when she walked into the main part of the house, the alarm started beeping giving her 60 seconds to turn off the alarm (all the interior doors are armed at the same time when using the AWAY setting).  She didn't hear the alarm lady telling her to turn off the alarm, so she sets off the alarm.  Now keep in mind it probably scared her to death when it went off.  It's loud.  She doesn't understand why it went off when she walked through her door.  She doesn't realize I had set the alarm and left.  Yeah, stone deaf.
Ok- back to the story.
The men were here checking the dehumidifier in the basement.  Making sure it's working properly. They had questions I couldn't answer, so what do I do? That's right, I call the DH.  Right to VM.  So I call the MIL.  No answer.  Knowing she probably can't hear the phone, I proceed to call her 6 times in a row.  I am chilling in the basement family room getting a mani/pedi.  My amazing friend LR brought the nail tech over to keep me occupied.  All of a sudden, the DH comes running down the stairs, screaming, wanting to know what happened.  Uhhhh, just answer the stupid phone.  Ok.  Nope.  It was in my MIL's purse, in the back seat of the car, UNDER the groceries.  Who the heck puts their purse in the backseat UNDER the groceries?????  I am super glad there wasn't a true emergency, because I would have been SOL.  Pretty sure their thinking is flawed.  When you have a pregnant women on bed rest at home, wouldn't you have a form of communication (i.e. cell phone) available all the time?? OK.   Maybe I think differently than anyone else.
Any who; everything was fine, but that's not the point.
Monday is the big day.  Another ultrasound; hopefully off bed rest and the shots!
